insidious Whispers

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

To be able to study some empirical truth in silence. Such is lost in the sound barrier blast of insidious power-mongering.

Insidious Whispers

How seductive
The quiet of near silence
Where tonal resonance
Awaits its moment
Anticipating awakening
Flexing its threshold
Knowing soon
Vibrations will rise
Shouting will ensue
Soliciting audiences
Willing listeners
Seeking desperate reverberation
Knowing not
Noise often starts
As insidious whispers
Patiently waiting
to entrap

I have heard of subliminal messages embedded in videos to seduce people to like products they have no notion of, but I have not heard of insidious whispers.

If I sit still long enough and try not to think of anything, I do hear an idea slipping into my consciousness quite often, but that is not the same as what I believe you're driving at. I believe you are referring to the many conspiracy theories that come from a misshapen view of the news that drive people into insane positions and cults of distrust.

Short but powerful.

Ron
