Travel Continues

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Since last posting this poem, years have past. But, it seems critical at this time to not take for granted the seasonal changes. Concern for climate change, small or large as man's impact may be, we must remain conscious that our innate solipsistic narcissism is not something our aesthetic nature can ignore...try as we might. May the journey never end, even though ignorance could end it rather abruptly. (image by pinterest)

Travel Continues

Once traveled

    looking back is a

         smoke-filled window.

Once traveled

The smoky windows rattle their endless resentment at the windy changes.

But...The changes

      The rattles

          The smoky windows

Oh, how sweet their receding motion.

Oh, how sweet to breathe the air of the uphill movement

                             of struggling roots

                                  of rustling branches

of open spaces crying to be filled

                                            with visions

                                     with excavations of the mind

                               with tempestuous truth

                         with directions into endless detours

                   with paths...trails...roads...

roads to be...once again...

time continues…

either with

or without a planet

What is the good of time if there are no people to travels its byways.

A conclusion you have often raised from the question… "Will there be an Earth when we are extinct?" Given our adaptability, it will be quite a battle while we are losing.

Best to get ahead of the curve and stop acting so stupidly so that we can continue and continue to have a beautiful blue marble instead of a concrete rubble wasteland.

Capt. Kirk just returned from, "Where no man 90 has gone…" And he declared, "Everyone needs to do that!"

Let's make it cheap enough so that everyone can travel that way and learn how fragile and beautiful our home, our nest, really is.
