Seasons of Aging
How old is young?
How young is old?
Dilemmas' ponderance
Knows not answers to much of the clock’s ticking.
The older one gets
The more becomes magical
Radiant light seems more accessible
Sounds of silence unimpaired by the resonance of noise.
Discovering a rose petal’s touch tantamount to an infant’s skin
Breathing in the fragrance of a perfume’s memory
The savor of a lover’s moist lips
For some of us…
Senses grow older
Never dying
‘Til the end
And then
For those where the end is only another beginning
Will the senses be as alive?
Will the spirit evolve into new rewards?
Does age manifest portals into shadows of shielded revelation?
Many call it baggage
Others refer to it as experience
And then…
There are those who avoid relating to the aging
Perhaps it
Might it be the fear
Of growing older
Wiser,
Kinder
More loving
Some…
May think aging is like a contagion,
Taking away some aspect of youth?
Perhaps…
Old is the only way to understand what young is truly about
Who is
Laughing
Nodding acceptance
With more wrinkles,
More of gravity’s inevitability
Yet…
Might the smiling old be the quintessential measure
Of how young one can become?
Some of us like to think
Existence might just be a series of conscious seasons.
And each person regards age differently…
It was interesting to read some research whereby a
group of elderly men (70/80’s ) were taken into a place for
a week or so, and told to act 20 years younger…there were old
films playing on TV, along with old music, plus old magazines lying
around etc….
At the end of the week their physical status had improved
significantly. Their finger lengths had grown, their height increased
and there were cognitive improvements also. They were also throwing
down their canes and playing football etc,..therefore proving that ‘ageing’ can be manipulated…
I think it is also true that we often experience what we expect…

Of course I made many mistakes that I would correct or maybe take a different path if I had this life to live over. But I can't think of any afterlife that I would like to live in eternally. It sounds like a scam for the suffering to buy into. In spite of my inabilities, my life has been rich and fulfilling. Who could ask for anything more?
I am healthy and fulfilled. Don't mind leaving this life at any time now. If I have more seasons ahead, I will embrace them and wait for the next to arrive.
