Resonant Touch
For whom do we credit?
To what owe we gratitude?
For, to be moved by…
A baby’s grasp,
A canine’s wag of the tail,
A feline’s nuzzling purr,
A lover’s fingertips,
The moment of passion’s eruption
Requires no urging to understand.
Yet, often ignored is…
The homeless nod of gratitude,
A veteran’s Arlington salute,
A deliveryman’s punctual arrival,
The elderly’s breath of determination,
A physician’s private sigh of regret.
Forgetting the resonant touch
Is to obviate the gift of humanness.
How sad…
To not know touch is of many sensorial avowals,
That to be touched is not reserved
For mere physical object to object.
Awareness that the heart’s ability to beat
Exists not for survival alone,
But to allow stealth imbued vibrations
To move persons accepting their connection
With the intricacies of
Resonant touch.
