Music’s Affectionate Bond
It may be difficult to make lifelong friends of humans,
But the longevity of musical sound as friend
Is akin to marriage vows,
‘Til death do you part.
How selfless
These contrasting voices of auditory philosophy,
Giving of themselves
For their own sake,
Asking nothing in return,
Other than sharing their tonal erudition.
Lasting trust and love
Make musical friendship unsurpassed.
Remember…
The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever
Miles Davis’s - Sketches of Spain
Beethoven’s - Moonlight Sonata
Kenny Rogers’s – Lady
Or
Pachelbel’s – Canon in D Major
All friendly sound-epistemologists of differing color,
Origin,
And language.
Yes…
Friends may be hard to think of as lasting,
But the bond with music is without end to many,
Always available through devices…
Or the heart and mind.
May it always serve Him and His purposes, and never be used against us, such was the case in Babylon's Nebuchadnezzar and his treatment of Daniel. Enjoyed your poem tremendously.

I've been listening to old songs on the iPad every night now before falling asleep. Last night I watched a performance by an old rock band because two of the lead singer, electric guitar players were white-haired old guys. The guitar lead in was fantastic to a song I didn't recognize backed up by three backup singers, a black man and two black women. It just popped up on an automatic playlist. So I didn't see the caption as to who it was. But they were really good… Loved it. So grateful that we can pull those songs up on YouTube for free anytime we want.
