- Yes, there are alternatives to lamenting lost love. But they too glisten tearfully.

Poem Artwork

Memories Can’t Love Back

A phantasmic image

An aura of innocent love

The fragrance of passion released

The baby’s coo from a woman’s mouth

The touch of nocturnal dreams

The collage of pristine-cut diamonds in the flesh

Such are memories that can’t love back

But fond memories can soothe the soul. Gradually, I've found giving up the idea of youthful risk taking no longer applies, but the memories of those times stays warmly on my mind.

But I've never been impressed by pristine cut diamonds unless you're talking about the beauty of a woman that is unparalleled… And I've certainly experienced that more often than I would've thought.

We have only one day at a time and the love within it but good memories can embrace us too at times and bad ones can still hurt. A wise person told me that when you are longing for, or hurting from, the past; remember that it was once a reality but now it's a memory that can only exist in our minds and hearts. They can never happen again,so live in the moment and the love it offers. Top shelf poetry from you always, Odin.

This is an observance, with a title that could be a song. I LOVE, “Such are memories that can’t love back.”. That lingers in the air. ~~ djl
