Beloved Truth

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

We often make ourselves anxious over that which we cherish, hold highly prized, or consider treasured memories. Such esteem is not confined to a single focus.

Beloved Truth

Intervals are for rest
Occasion understands
At times your hearts pump empty chambers of loneliness
Wisdom knows isolation as flirtatious residual of impatience
Interims usher conscious awareness
Even as patience weeps quiet tears

 Lest we forget
Time is our friend
Beloved

So often seen as an enemy, time is indeed our friend. Well penned as always, Odin.

Time heals everything. Even our broken hearts. But for some, it's difficult to wait.

It’s as though I was inhaled into the portal of your poem this morning, Odin. I don’t even know why I tapped into AuthorsDen after months of being away. It was the caption’s brief summary you wrote: “We often make ourselves anxious over that which we cherish…” A staggeringly profound concept. That segment {of the rest of the clause} made me ‘wake up’ and read your piece, which stands next to your opening phrase with every bit of largeness of wisdom. Brevity keeps the eyes wide open, Odin, in this gloriously profound piece of writing.

The power of authors offering their work on this platform is exemplified here with your contribution of today — and I wish I would have been in a place these months I’ve been away, to read every single back postings of yours and those of my other favorite contributors, but suffice it to say….this piece injects just exactly the food of thought I’ve starved for and could not provide for myself. All of us make each other stronger with the written word, because nourishment of mind, spirit and soul….keeps the body going. This piece you wrote is a quiet and personal banquet for me, fitting on my small empty plate right now. I will print it out and tape it to the bathroom mirror. You are a specialist in mirrors as it is — The Three Way Mirror.

Thank you, Odin Roark, Carry the Flame ~~ djl
