Deception’s Threat

Evanescent falsehoods

Like snowflakes on warm roadways,

Water drops on a hot frying pan,

Teardrops on a movie set,

Often seem destined

To remain alive with a chameleon nature,

Even as veracity’s influence

Frequently creates unexpected consequences,

Assuaging the misrepresentation.

For truth knows not how to die,

Only to thrust forward with indestructible armor

Many refuse to accept,

Trapped as they are

In the shadowy walls of their distorted being,

Slowly withering to nothingness.
