Resilience Knows Vulnerability
In the face of the storm,
when the skies darkened and the winds howled,
he stood firm.
Roots deep in the earth,
he’d bend but did not break,
swaying with the force,
yet holding his ground.
Each challenge, a wave, crashing against his shore,
but he’d rise, again and again, undaunted, unyielding.
Scars mark his journey,
each one a story of survival,
a testament to the strength that remained within.
Through the darkest nights,
he found his light, a flicker of hope that refuses to die.
For in every fall, there is a rise, in every end, a new beginning.
Resilience was his name, etched in the fabric of his being,
a quiet power, an unbreakable spirit.
And thus…
Vulnerability knew well the quiet moments of dawn’s horizon,
when all around him was still and his heart loud,
accepting the fragility of truth,
the whisperings of the soul,
exposed and raw.
Vulnerability laid bare…
Its trembling hand reaching out,
the tear that dared to fall,
the raspy voice that struggled,
yet spoke its truth.
He taught me vulnerability is…
The courage to be seen,
the strength to shoulder against a darkening storm,
letting the walls crumble,
and the light pour in,
revealing in the depths of overtness,
a humble strength.
His vulnerability never waned,
not due to the armor he wore,
but through the scars he bore.
Both resilience and vulnerability knew then and now
that by keeping an open heart,
there is a grace,
a connection,
a naked humanness shared,
a singularity that binds us all,
allowing the spirit of goodness to live on.
Love ya!

While I have written about many things, it occurred to me while reading your poem that I have never written anything on this topic, a topic I confess I feel strongly about because of its importance in our lives in various ways. This is one of your top efforts imo.
