Threads of Grace
In the morning light,
when the world awakens,
I find a quiet joy,
a whisper of thanks,
for the simple breath,
the beating heart.
Grateful for the sun’s embrace,
the gentle breeze,
the laughter shared,
the tears that cleanse.
In the moments of stillness,
I see the beauty,
in the ordinary,
the unnoticed,
the fleeting.
Grateful for the hands that hold,
the voices that comfort,
the love that endures,
through the storms and calm.
In the tapestry of life,
woven with threads of grace,
I find my place,
a heart full,
a soul at peace.
What I noticed amid the occasional barking of the dogs across the street and the night sounds of birds, animals and insects going about their business, was, although with was quite warm, it was also very pleasant and peaceful. There were no pesky mosquitoes and I think I could have slept out there all night long like I did when I was young and only needed a patch of soft earth or grass and my army blanket to sleep under the stars.
My situation gives me many times when I'm alone and I can just stop what I'm doing, go outside or stay inside and look outside and enjoy an understanding that comes with the patience of not being constantly busy but sometimes, often contemplative like you suggested in your poem.
