Respect Misfortune
One’s stage for living
Knows well the dressing rooms of preparation.
Often in the shadow of dreams unmet,
Where hopes falter and fall,
Failure stands, not as a foe,
But as a silent teacher.
Respect the stumble,
The missteps on the entrance path,
For in each performance falter,
There lies a lesson, profound.
Not all variances of choice are useful,
Not all victories are swift.
In the detours and delays,
Wisdom finds its gift.
Embrace the less-than-perfect entrances,
The goals that slipped away,
For in the cracks,
New light finds its way.
Respect the strength and courage to try again,
For in the face of failure,
Resilience is born,
Unchained courage relearns commitment.
We can all chalk it up to experience. Knowing we are are chosen as a finalist because of our classification but don't stand a chance of getting the job. It's just a formality so they can hire the person they had in mind all along while having done their required duty.
If we get right back up from a sucker punch we didn't see coming, and pay attention to business we will succeed. Wait our turn even if it is unfair, we will get there. It might just take a little longer, that's all. But by not stressing so much over our failures, we will live long enough to see our success.
