The Ripple of Decisions

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

We sometimes forget that all our choices have consequences, and they can be of short durations or continue for lengthy periods. It often takes a long time to learn that: the universe only gives us what we can handle, knowing as it does, that everything is perfect and experiences are often without obvious interpretation. What many have to worry about is: did I get the lesson? Did I advance my capacity for wisdom?(Image by Odin AI)

 The Ripple of Decisions

There are moments for many of us when the world pauses,

and we stand at crossroads, paths diverging like veins.

Each step, a private moment,

each choice, a casting of experiences into the still waters of time,

sending rippled consequences.

The decisions reverberate through days,

often through lives intertwined,

a woven curtain of emotion with threads of what was,

 what is, what could be.

Some choices bloom  like flowers in spring, bringing color and life,

while others cast shadows, long and cold, in the twilight.

We are the architects of our own fate,

builders of bridges and walls, of dreams and regrets.

In the end, we are left with the echoes,

the ripples of our choices like pieces of letters

floating to where they need to be,

a testament to the paths we dared to tread,

perhaps a wrong turn along the way

and sometimes…

The loss of a tender connection.

Life’s Simple Rewards.

William Purkey  once spoke

Of what a worthy life was all about:

“You have to dance like there’s nobody watching,

Love like you’ll never be hurt,

Sing like there’s nobody listening,

And live like it’s heaven on earth,”

Love’s Learning Arch.

It doesn’t come naturally.

You go through enticement,

Then whoa,

Is this feeling what I think it is,

Or just a phantasy-guise?

Even fantasy takes on a kind of reality when it comes into the mind . Beautifully written. Never heard of William Purkey, but love the line, sing as if no one is listening. Indeed, isn't that when we sing full throated, when we are alone!

And we never know how far those ripples of our emotions will go in the end.

Beautifully written and beautifully illustrated to match.

The font could be increased in size to make it a little easier for older eyes to view the prosetry at a distance on their computer screen.
