Is it possible we too seldom take score and consider the importance of our most distant dreams? (Image by agsandrew)

 Dreams Made Real

Intimacy Revisited

How arrives such moments
Those glimpses
Realms consciousness first realizes
Amidst the elusive dreams of a child
That place of castles and warriors
Princesses and silken hair
Always subjected to a blank slate
On awakening

Later

Dreams seem accessible
We rush to write them down
Speak them on the couch
Beg reflection to arouse
Imagination’s past
Into future’s truth
That place
Where swollen heat
Moistens into Nature’s tears
Encouraging heart’s fantasies
To irrigate arid stagnation
From the mind

Why do many
Far too many
Condemn wraithlike epiphanies
As wasted Time

How sad
Such avoidance

This gracious invitation
Left to only grieve those
Ignoring such long ago
Childhood dreams
Knowing not
Time’s only desire
Is to revisit
Its most intimate past

Strange

Some never learn
How to realize dreams
While others know well
 How to lose them

All dreams are intriguing, some childhood dreams are probably best lost, what was probably really lost was the desire to grow.

It was a bit confusing when you were referring to the past, but dreams have become an integral part of my life as a writer. In my younger life I tended to dream conundrums I was having in the office and trying to fix them in my mind. Sometimes I actually did!

But later in life, and retired, I remember my childhood quite well, but don't dream about it very often. But I dream often, three kinds of dreams: the kind where an apparition of someone in a full color that I don’t know will appear briefly upon opening or closing my eyes from sleep. They are probably the source of people who claim they have seen ghosts; the kind where I’m leaving my bed and flying, usually around the room and finding myself falling until I end up in my bed; and finally, the kind that is rich with a story that continues throughout the night of real people that I don’t know involved in very complex stories that I draw sometimes from when I write stories. Some of these are very erotic and I like that. My own X-rated sleep movies.
