Satori
Oh, so often we dream
There could be a momentary window of solitude.
How brief the pleasure of it all.
How long the gift of absence
Where a person thrives on the senses,
Becoming at peace
Where desires cease to be in a mist of vanishment,
Having unburdened oneself from the weight of "want."
To comfort the heart
Is to untangle the web of longing,
Chase shadows of what could be
Where blindness to the light dominates.
Needs…
Simple and pure
In its whisper of silence,
While "wants" roar demands,
A cacophony of discontent and discord.
Satori…
So generous with its enlightenment,
Even if for but a short time
As it blooms radiance in the garden of enough,
Shading the soil rich with acceptance,
Rendering the air with a fragrance of peace.
Absence thrives…
When the senses become at peace,
When the clutter of "wants" recede into mist.
Such a place as Satori exists
Finding no room for suffering’s insistence,
Becoming but a distant echo in the stillness,
Leaving behind the focus of desire,
Giving freedom to the soul
For the courage of simply being.
