This showers me with the metaphoric version of ‘storm,’ as in ‘relationship.’ And your poem highlights the word ‘Embracing,’ being the very concept of acceptance. The ‘new soil’ in relationship is the ‘reveal’ of what wounding caused to happen, in the event it can be healed. Or not healed. Understanding the darkness might be impossible to lighten: natural disasters, estrangement, death, because there is often no answer to the ‘why’ of the storm. You're right about the news headlines about storms. Storms are unnecessary part of life. Without them, there is no water and deserts are not very fruitful.

They have threatened us with flooding rains for the last two weeks but we've received only a few meager drops. A gully-washer downpour would be much appreciated.
