Imagination Knows Not Sleep
If no hand reaches through the fog,
I’ll carve a father from the wind,
a sentinel of swirling care,
who steadies me with unseen fingers.
If no mother gathers my tears,
I’ll stitch them into constellations,
and let order cradle me in the geometry of stars.
If no friend walks my path,
I’ll befriend the hush between heartbeats,
a companion cloaked in Quiet,
who speaks in the language of stillness.
If no enemy hones my edges,
I’ll learn from the light that casts no shadow,
where truth wears no armor and lessons bloom in silence.
If no roof crowns my head,
I’ll raise a cathedral of Audacity,
its spires forged from thunder,
its pews lined with risk.
If my eyes dim to dusk,
I’ll listen to the color of voices.
If my ears fall to silence,
I’ll think in symphonies.
If thought deserts me,
I’ll wait beneath the tree of tactics,
where patience ripens and strategy drops like fruit.
If fortune forgets my name,
I’ll mint wealth from grit,
gold spun from the threadbare moments others overlook.
If love forgets to smile at me,
I’ll court sleep like a painter courts canvas,
dreaming Tomorrow and Tomorrow’s Tomorrow in brushstrokes of hope.
Where Dreams are vaults and Hope the key,
I’ll unlock imagined kingdoms with nothing but breath and belief.
And if Alone is all that answers,
I’ll not mourn. For Alone is not empty.
Alone is the architect of the impossible.
And Inviting me tonight to dine with the moon
on a table set by stars,
where humble silence has eternity’s essence to communicate.
