Life Itself
Silence;
came just
in time for
reflection; Just in
time for inspection of
the mind; Yesterday's passing
now in memories everlasting; And
tears cascading into streams,
surpassing life, itself
And there was chaos; Strong
odors of truth; Plaqued by sights
unseen; Intravenous torture, burning
liquid fires; Only scholars and those
alike, could and would proclaim
their independence; Thus, bleeding
in the knowledge of
a strengthening battle
All would go forward; Facing themselves;
All would find the blinding lights;
Some would be shadowed; Some would
bask in the warmth; Some would find
justice through their neighbors; but-
all would go forward
Innocence offered for spiritual
appeasement; Slain behind the podium;
Defaulted by lies; Repeated lies;
Depleted by the loss of life;
Suffocated beneath the pillow of
another's war
And silence;
Will come just in time
for reflection; Just in time
for inspection of the mind; Yesterday's
passing now in memories everlasting; And
tears cascading into streams; Surpassing
life, itself
