Uncertain tears; Oh cry for them; Hold up their memories; To reveal- Thirteen cried from far far below- Only to feed their families a meal- Black was the dust; Black was the day- many a long cold weary night- Don't step on the roses that lay at their feet- Now Twelve touch the hem of white
Uncertain tears; Oh cry for them; A final peace to call their own- From far far below your faces they saw- As the Angels guided Twelve of them home Tender was the hand that reached for them- Sweet and Gracious is the Kingdom of God- Warm is their light eternal- where in Heaven they'll forever trod
Uncertain tears; Oh heal the pain; For sorrow is theirs no more- No labors; No trials; No burdens they share- for they rest on Glory Land's shores Yes tender was the hand that reached for them; through the tears of uncertainty they passed- God's Angels guided all Twelve of them home- Where now they have found peace at last
This is a very tender and heart touching tribute you have penned to the tragic victims of the West Virginia Mine Disaster Lisa !
No amount of words make up for the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one, but you have endeavoured humanely and compassionately to fill the breach with words of Love and Compassion !

This is such a touching tribute to the men who perished in the mine and their families who weep for their loss. Though borne in sadness, your words come through warm and tender without urgency or despair. This is just outstanding and I wish that you could get this to a place where the families of the lost might read it. Perhaps you can do a google search for the local newspaper from that area and send this to the editor. It really should be read by all who knew and were touched by the lives of those who are lost to them forever.
Take care,
Sherry
I know you wanted 2006 to be a year without a tribute. However, you have honored the memories of these brave 12 so eloquently and powerfully...thank you. May their families find comfort in your words.
A beautiful tribute Lisa that you do so well. You give us all something to relieve the hurt. May the Lord keep the families in His loving care while they go through the mourning time, and reduce some of their misery.

Thank God for some compassion and respect for these poor souls. People! Listen up. Nobody made a conscious effort to hurt the famlies. We, each and every one of us are human. We make mistakes, and if mistakes were made, the ones who made them will have to live with them. I don't blame the famlies for being hurt and even angry in the heat of such a tragedy, but the rest of us need to watch what vilness we spew toward anybody. Like a bunch of damn slithering snakes is the media in all of this. Damn them! You might remove this, Lisa, but at least I have had my say. Do I feel better. No.
Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
