Recalling 9-11

At first I thought it was a fluke, radar gone awry.  Then a second plane hit the towers and the smoke billowed across the New York skyline.  We could hear all the screams coming from the frightened masses.

I was unsettled with fear.  Who would have done this?  There are innocent people in those towers!  Will we be able to get them out?  Oh my God, they are jumping from the windows!  What is happening?  I need to awaken from this terrible dream?

There are more aircraft veering off course, what is going on?  Confusion and uncertainty rocked me, rocked everyone.

News flash! The Pentagon has been hit.  Another hijacked plane, recovered by the courageous passengers, crashed into a field.   It was suppose to take out the White House.

I am befuddled.  I cannot comprehend this lack of concern for human life.  What kind of people would do such things?

Now, the foolish reporters are telling everyone exactly where the President is, where he is going, and when we can expect him to arrive!  Are they nuts????  We are in serious jeopardy here, what in the hell are they thinking?

Shaken, I fervently pray:

Oh Lord!  Please, get our bombers in the sky, to escort any other off course planes.  Don’t let another innocent person be taken out, today.  Please stop this madness or we shall never again, rest.  Faceless cowards who have no regard for their own lives, let alone the lives of others, are raping my country, killing our people. Oh, Lord, please help us.  Please help us, Lord.

Nearly three thousand, murdered, to what avail?

Did the terrorists feel a thrill, while seeing the expressions of shock and fear on the face of the world?  Was it exciting to them, to watch the mighty buildings fall, knowing they had trapped thousands of innocent people and caused them to die a slow and painful death?  In their small minds and unenlightened hearts, did it make them feel like big or mighty men?

I have lived my life in peace, but now, with all my heart and soul, I wish for every terrorist to be eradicated from this planet.  I do not feel that they deserve to live and go on spreading their poison to more innocent people.   I believe they would murder their own mother if she stood between them and their heinous goal.  They act like barbarians, and as such, I find that there is no place for them in a our society.  This was a difficult choice for me to make, but I believe it is the only choice, if I want our children to live in liberty and the world to be free from the terrorist’s grasp.

9-11 was only the first chapter, in the book of undoing, written by the terrorist groups.  I pray that we remain strong and that I live to see the defeat of all who think that human life has no value.

The terrorist’s lack of concern for humanity affects the entire world.  We need the cooperation of all countries, all people, to defeat them.  As each of us has seen, the terrorists do not target only the U.S.A., they are targeting the world.

I feel the same way. We need to find all terrorist slimeballs and rid the world of them! They will NOT win; they will lose this war! Powefully and painfully stated; may we never see another day like what happened three years ago, and may terror soon be overwith and done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

Though tears of pain and memories I do read of your take on that fateful day, I wish it didn't happen, but wishes are like feathers in the wind, I wish my wife was home, not at work, but then the world does go on and things happen as to a plan...Keep Peace in your Heart, Ed & rufuz

May I gently say, having felt the impact and depth of your grief, which we share, that 9/11 was not the "first chapter"... Ossama had taken credit for previous crimes against America, one of which was a bombing of the WTC, itself. America was slow to awaken, but is fully aware, now, that it is truly "us against them" and I believe that we will win... because blinding hatred, which the terrorists work from, will be their undoing. I'm just glad that we are involved in speeding that undoing up! It is not in the definition of an American to understand this kind of barbarism and hate... alas, we are now fully educated to its existence. I only hope we stand together, a unified front... then they cannot bring us down! Don't worry about what to call your piece: 'poetry'.. 'narative'.. it's a great and important work and I thank you for posting it. katy xox.

Blessings to you my friend for writing what we all felt that day. Just as it was when President Kennedy died, or when the world lost John Lennon, 9-11 will be one of those days that we will look back upon, remembering where we were, and what we were doing when the news came to us that the world had suddenly gone mad...it was a day when the planet lost any innocence it had left. Yet it was also a day when this country's citizens realized in a huge way just what it meant to be an American, and how important it was to fight back and erradicate the sickness that had permeated our shores. Beautifully expressed write... Michelle

the world is at war ... we better take strong action to prevent such escalating atrocities ... i don't believe in war unless there is no other choice and the world must realize its choices have dwindled ...

Only when our Govt. decides to take off the UN kid gloves we've been fighting with, and bring all of our weight to bare, will we ever be free of terrorists. Great words though Sherry
