So gently you looked into her eyes
So easily you had her within your arms
So naturally your lips met
So quickly you made her lose her head...
Senses... all gone,
And she questions her actions now
She looks in the mirror to try and see the situation clearer,
She stares deep into her own eyes
And yet nothing happens...
She gets further lost,
To her own surprise,
It's you she now thinks about the most,
Sadness and happiness - things just do not feel right
She's lost the map and no-one can lead
She stays awake late at night...
Frustration -
She can see you, yet you're out of her sight
Her thoughts, her words, her feelings,
They all confuse her
No-one or nothing can solve this anymore
She only hopes that time will lead her into the know,
So then she'll be able to look in the mirror and really see
What is happening...
I think we have all been guilty of letting our heart get ahead of our head in a budding relationship. We have no one to blame but ourselves, for wanting something so badly that we did not have our eyes wide open going into it. All the logic aside, the heartache still exists and we have to find a way to forgive ourself for being so foolish, in order to address and get past the pain of the rejection. All is not lost as long as we learn the lesson. Very nice poem, Tonya.

Sadly many of them are around who steal our hearts with false words and lead us into a quagmire of confusion and self doubt. You eloquently describe that sense of hopelessness when love is unrequited. Striking poetry. Panda :)
