Out of the tunnel
and into the light,
to end the nonsense
and such a bold flight.
No apology will you accept,
for one I will not say;
because loving you
is forever and a day.
If ever you think of me,
let it be kindly,
for never once
did I reach out blindly.
If ever you feel unloved,
lonely and alone,
you’ve only to remember,
I’m as close as your phone.
Should you reconsider
and change your mind,
you have only to seek
to find.
Ah, such strategy I used
against your battle of wills.
Now, it’s checkmate,
and the mighty pen stills.
