Thinking about moonless nights and shooting stars.

Only a moonless night Will bring that streak of light Known as a shooting star But really a high speed meteor Only a moonless night Can make this right I see the moon, stars, and sky Then begin to wonder why Meteors aren't stars they say We call them shooting stars anyway Only a moonless night Can make this right Wish for a shooting star Watch from afar Impossible to see with the moon Timing too late or too soon Only a moonless night Can make this right Not because meteors aren't around They just are so hard to be found In the daylight Or with a moonlit night Only a moonless night Can make this right Only a moonless night Will bring that streak of light Known as a shooting star But really a high speed meteor Only a moonless night Can make this right by Gloria Buono (c) 2004

A bolide, no less! :) Coolness! I love sitting outside on clear nights and just admiring God's heavens...so many stars, so peaceful and yes...meteors. :) Serenity all over this write--thank you.

You are right. Sometimes, the moon makes the stars shy and they are less apt to be visible. There is something to be said for a true moonless night. Thank you for sharing this offering, Gloria. Love and peace. Regis
