To Nana: Only Love
I won’t intrude into your peace
Nor lure you back for an encore
You remain the pride and joy of Greece
Still, your voice is missed by many more.
You sang with beauty style and grace
Your talent understated yet so pure
And that angelic smile upon your face
Filled the room with such allure.
You calmed our souls relaxed our fears
Oh how your modesty appealed
In contrast to nearly all your peers
‘Twas heaven that your voice revealed.
I’m so glad our winding paths converged
A time my memory shall long enshrine
When two souls met and one emerged
The part you shared with all of mine.
For more than 50 years Nana Mouskouri graced the international
scene with her beautiful voice. Her record sales exceeded 350 million.

Thank you for reminding me that there are souls out there that are doing great things that I have no knowledge of. I have never heard of Nana before, but from the last stanza, I suspect that you had a much more personal experience with her and wrote this poem to charm me and inform me of my ignorance.
