The Death of Techno-Tyrant
(Inspired by Ruan Mills Burke's Poem)
The techno robots chop and take
A path of workers in their wake
The empire builds a palace grand
It stands so tall above the land.
While high up there in lofty towers
Gather CEOs and little squires
Collecting profits from distant shores
Safe from all behind locked doors.
Their tally soars with new found wealth
Without a care for workers' health
They cut and cut till things are bare
Leave more to dangle without fare.
Until one day there springs a leak
The riches crumble the empire creaks
With a regal burst the whole thing falls
Entrapping tyrants behind their walls.
Amid the rubble where all can see
A hand protrudes thru dark debris
It clutches yet the mighty dollar
Surrounded now by filth and squalor.
A fitting monument for passers by
To see the final hue and cry
Left unchecked to lust's upheaval
The certain grave of greed and evil.
More advanced the technology is, the greedier are the people who invented it, as well as the people who use it. To greed is almost human. It can't be stopped.
