TRUE, TRUE
BUT WHAT CAN WE DO?
THE COMPUTER...
ITS ADVANTAGEOUS TOO
SO WE AS A GUIDE
HAVE TO TAKE 'KIDS' ASIDE
AND GIVE THEM LESSONS
ON THE JOYS OF EXPRESSION
THEN WITH HANDS THEY'LL DRAW
AND BRUSHES WILL... FLY

Really loved this poem about the changing means and opportunities to express ourselves. There is a lot in there to meditate on muse on!

Penmanship has gone by way of computer literacy, literally. That note we used get in the mail that is "hand written" is now but a lost art. Good food for thought Ron. This gives me fuel for another poem. Thank you!JMD

There is nothing as close to touching someone physically as the written letter. 'Enjoyed.

If cursive writing goes by the wayside like some say it will, I am glad I learned how to do it and hope in my next life I will learn again how to do so. For to write longhand it seems to be more expressive than to just type a word or touch a screen. As always you give to us something interesting & can more than ever be able to relate to, excellent write, thank you for posting it...-e-

You expressed yourself quite well on this poem. From drawings on cave walls to texting, the ways in which we can express ourselves keeps evolving. Having said that, I sometimes think we lose more than we gain. My 14 yr. old grandson can not sign his name. He's never been taught cursive hand writing, and his printing is terrible. maybe he'll just start using a mark like those old timers used to do.

Now we have come all the way with these computers so that we can "finger the screen without fear," as you say in your poem. Oh the wonders of technology. How I wish I could upload a PDF file of my poems where I can fix in the file my own fonts and style. Then I could "fulfill (my) life's ambition." John

Egyptian hieroglyphics & The Rosetta Stone.
Cuneiform of the Sumerians.

Then, in our modern age, the little "chicken-scratches"
of toddlers, attempting to write ...
