Almost a year ago, 2 days to my birthday, on April 17th to be exact, my body sounded the alarm.
It was a wake up call that resting would not do anymore good to me to recuperate. The uncomfortable feeling on my upper left torso brought me to my family doctor. The ECG test suggested I was fine but I was lovingly advised by the doctor to go for a second opinion.
Barely 24 hours later, the discomfort became so unbearable that I was left with no other choice but to visit the specialist at a private hospital. Another ECG was done, followed by a stress test. True enough I had a medical condition.
After discussing the possibilities, from the angiogram images, and negotiating with the specialist cum surgeon, I was very thankful to God, and I still am, that I made the right decision to have my condition rectified at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur.
The "trip" there, somewhere past 2300 hours was enough to show the severity of my case. I was transported in an ambulance, an experience nobody would want to ask for. The environment was tensed but I was not troubled. Deep down, I knew my God has not forsaken me. He was my comfort and my fortress.
Today, I have learnt to live my life a little more than ever, appreciate and enjoy the many blessings I have been bestowed with and foremost be a testimony, living on borrowed time.
All praise and glory to God for His grace is sufficient for me and His mercy endures forever.

It's certainly a good thing that you are properly diagnosed and able to get the problem corrected.
When I told my rehab doctor in 2009 that my left arm was aching, he called it a "wake-up call," and ordered a stress test and CT scan of my heart and arteries. Fortunately, although I had been told that I have a heart murmur and a malfunctioning nerve in my heart, my heart and arteries are healthy and can withstand the threat from blood clots coming from unexercised legs and the autonomic dysreflexia that momentarily raises my blood pressure every time I urinate. I like to cal it "heart exercise."
