It had 3 months
Since David had
Started at the restaurant…
And he was tired.
He worked weekends,
Evenings,
And occasionally took
A day off from the cubicle
To help out.
More than anything,
He was tired of Julia;
Especially since the day
He’d met an attractive
Customer in the restaurant
Who slipped him her number.
Uncle Serg told Julia about it
And she began stopping by
The restaurant,
Every day…
Just to check on him.
Next week, he was scheduled
To begin culinary school—
At night—
So he’d have to cut back on his hours
At the restaurant.
He’d gotten the financial aid
He’d applied for and
With the money he’d saved
He could comfortably afford the
Remaining tuition.
It was Sunday,
And he wasn’t due in to work
Until 4.
He’d come to enjoy his Sundays,
Especially since
He’d told Julia
That he spent Sundays with his family.
She’d call in the morning,
Then come by the restaurant
To see him
In the evening.
He hated that.
He knew she expected him to
Ask her to be his girlfriend;
But he wasn’t going to do that.
And she couldn’t make him.
That’s why he declined Uncle Serg’s offer
To pay his tuition…
He knew that he had used Julia…
And that eventually the breakup
Would be dramatic.
But there was something
About her…
Something that just wasn’t right.
He reached for the phone--
It was time to call Richard,
The cop.
Richard answered,
And David told him
All about Julia.
I’m headed to the station,
He said excitedly.
I’ll run her and call you back
In a few.
He hung up, and David
Secretly envied him...
It must be nice to know
That you’re doing exactly
What you were meant to do...
Ten minutes later the phone rang.
Pay dirt!
Richard’s voice exclaimed.
She’s got priors—
For stalking and assault.
Seems as though
Miss Julia doesn’t like to let boyfriends go
Without a fight.
No convinctions though—
Charges were filed
And dropped.
He paused.
So...
Daddy’s little rich girl
Needs anger management,
David said sarcastically.
You read my mind Dave.
And Daddy probably paid the guys off
So that his little girl
Could go scot free.
David sighed.
Dave—
I hope you know
That you’re gonna have
To get rid of her.
This is nothing but trouble.
Yeah, I know.
And, I’ll take care of it today.

This is getting tense Wendi...keep writing! I can only imagine what is in store for Julia and David!
