Vampyre fantasy in the first person from a female perspective.

Walking alone on a moonlit path.  You feel the air surround you and envelop you with a sense of longing, of longing for you know not what.  The night is quiet and lonely.  Loneliness overwhelms you.

Ahhhh, if only....  You sigh with silent despair, for you have no clue as to what it is you are longing for.  The breeze is warm and gently floats over your face, tickling you with soft caresses.  A sound.  What was that sound?

You jump, startled at the sound of unbelievably rapid movement.  An ominous figure materializes in front of you, so suddenly you gasp in shock.  A large and forbidding figure now looms over you. The moon disappears into the clouds and the darkness of the night is exhilarating.  Your pulse quickens and you see a hint of a soft smile playing on the face of your tormentor.  A blush spreads over your face, it feels warm and tingles and you see an evil, yet playful glint in the eyes of the man dwarfing you with his sheer size.

You try to speak.  You stammer and stutter with fear.  Overwhelmed with dread you stand in silence and await your fate.

"What do you want" your soul cries out, but ne'er a sound tumbles from your shivering lips.

The moon peeks out from behind the clouds and partially illuminates the dreadful darkness.  You see the shadows of the face of he who stands before you.  A frighteningly large person, long black hair whips across his face in the moonlight, flowing softly in the breeze.  A smile?  NO, maybe a smirk, appears on his silent face.

"Come with me" he says, although you can scarce believe it, for his lips never once moved.

His hand beckons you to follow, and years of knowing the minds men tells your mind not to go, but alas, your body is obediently following him.  Disappearing into the night, you and your new Master dissolve into the darkness.

Master?  Your mind questions the origin of that thought.  You silently know, however, with every fiber of your being that this is so.

This strange creature that has captured your soul with nary a word, somehow posses more of you, than you yourself owns title to.  Everything you know and all you have ever learned tells you to scream with fear.  Yet, somehow you have never felt safer or more secure.

Stopping in a moonlit meadow, he bids you to lie beside him with a voice both eerie and comforting.  For a brief second, fear washes over you in a tidal torrent, then gazing into his soulless eyes you find quiet comfort and do your Masters bidding.  Lying beside him, his arm draped o`er your torso, you silently beg for him to ravish you and your mind screams out to escape.

The Dead Effect by Terry Vinson

Tales of The Zombie or for soap opera fans, perhaps 'Days of The Dead' might be more appropriate.
