The Dreamer
I have always felt that greatness was my portion…my piece of the pie. Even though I went through having a not-so-stable childhood, and dealing with confusion and lack of self-love, I
always dared to dream big. I can remember, as a young child, longing to be a leader and a person of influence. I remember wanting to be happy…if nothing else just to be a happy person
to overcome the pain of rejection and the feeling of being an outcast within. I can remember sitting and looking at the sky, dreaming of being ahead and being able to say, “I made it!”
I did not understand why I stayed in a consistent state of imagining. Even when I went to bed at night, I would wake up from a dream that indicated that where I was in my life was not where I would always be. I can recall telling others about my dreams and the responses would vary. Some would laugh and some would simply ignore what I was saying. But, I could not stop dreaming! I mean, you live to dream, a sure promise that you are destined for something greater than where you are.
The Dreamer
You begin to feel the need to believe
Because of the dreams you conceive.
You can’t even see
But you dream to be the reality of your most inner thoughts
That project in the most profound ways.
It’s like a movie premiere
Of what is to come near.
It continues to encourage you to pursue the mental clues
Of what is in store for you.
Sometimes it seems so hard to reach,
Because of the magnitude of the dream.
It’s a prophetic reminder of the possibilities
That God has in store for those who believe.
Dream Big!
And you will achieve
What you have seen while asleep
Or even in a day dream.
