CYBERSPACE HIS HOME (July 31, 2013)
He is not normal they say, hiding behind the computer screen all day, letting life pass him by. But they don't know what he is doing and how he feels when he is there in cyberspace. He actually has friends there who support him, who care about him, who accept him for who he is, something that doesn't happen in real life. In the real world he struggles to fit in, to belong, to be accepted. In cyberspace there is no struggle, for he has found his home, his place of comport. And he prefers it to the real world. Sad that he can't take this "cyberspace" with him wherever he goes.
I think that perhaps, for those who are treated as different to the norm, it is a safe escapism for the most part. After all, the internet cannot harm you physically or invade your private space uninvited.
