We are together
Yet days spent apart
I am alone
Emptiness in my heart
Missing you always
And wanting you near
Hoping for distance
To one day disappear
So that you and me
Have no reason to hide
And spend more time together
Through it all side by side
Together is better
Than being alone
Yet I still find myself
Lonesome here on my own
And hope for the day
When our parting is rare
With many great memories
To rejoice and to share
You and me ever-lasting
Bonded strongly for life
Always loving and caring

Very poignant and heartfelt. Pulls at my heartstrings on behalf of the two! Much enjoyed. Your rhyming pulled me along as well as the sentiment. It felt like an extra nice Hallmark card read. Sweet and touching.
