"Did you put the stuff in the trunk?", I asked Faisal.
"Yeah nigga, I am all done.", Faisal's answer.
"Lets go.", I said to him.
Me and Faisal were on our way to Boston. We live in Washington DC. The trip was supposed to be 10 hrs each way. We left on a Saturday night right after midnight. We had to be back by Monday morning since he had work and I had school.
I love long drives. I can drive to any place regardless how far it is. All I need are my ciggrattes, a few cans of Sprite, gas, and a cd player. The reason we were going was kind of interesting keeping this in mind that we left on a saturday night and we had to be back within 30 hrs. However, each way was 10 hrs.
Faisal is a very good friend of mine. But he likes to stay reserved . He does not like to share his secrets with no body. But that night he had to open up cause he made me go with him.
"Qamar, its about a girl. I like her. Infact, I like her alot. We have known each other for almost 2 yrs now. She lives in Boston. and I am going to see her there.", Faisal.
"Cool, does she know that we are on our way?", I asked.
"No." Faisal.
"What? Shut the hell up. Nigga u serious?", I asked.
"Yeah". Faisal.
"OK, We are going to drive for 10 hrs, and the person you want to see doesnt even know that you are coming to see her" I asked.
"Yes, she asked me not to stay in touch with her. Cause she has turned into all religious. But I want to find out whats going on. She wasnt like this before. So I am gonna just go there and surprise her and ask her what she wants." Faisal.
"Negro, What the hell are you thinking? Do you even know where she lives?", I asked.
"Yeah she goes to ABC University in Boston." We can go to the campus and ask any information desk about her whereabouts cause she lives on campus." Faisal.
"Wow! what a plan you have! I wish I knew this was going on in your mind, I would have never come with you." ahhahahaha" I said.
Long story short, we had to cover 10 hrs and were not even sure if we were going to able to meet with her. The semester was already over so were not sure if she was going to be there. I was surprised at this act of his, but at the same time I was with him. He was confused about this and he had never open up in front of me before so I wanted him to get what ever he wanted out of that trip.
Anyways, we drove all the way there and got directions from different gas stations to get to ABC University.
Did Faisal meet with his girlfriend? Was she there? Did they work everything out between them? Did we make it back within 30 hrs?
In order to answer them, I will have to write another story. So I will stop here. It was a wonderful experience.
