     A poem about Paul Revere

It's dark outside
With no lights for the ride
Fog is covering the scene
In the darkness you hear a scream
Someone shouldn't have been out there
All alone in no ones care
The rise and fall of footsteps stomping on the ground
Moonlight gleaming off of the bayonets of the British crown
"Is that blood flowing in this direction?", asks a soldier
Let me get a closer look its hard to tell from here
"Keep quiet!"  ,was the order continually uttered in the midst of the foreign crowd
"Oh my God we're being attacked", I said a little too loud
I grabbed my musket and jumped on my horse
Off with a thunderous pound straight for my course
The wind is chilly on this lonely ride of mines
But I have to report what I've seen to hell with the chilly sign
My breath was evident seen in clouds of mist
Swoosh around a tree I even heard a faint snakes hiss
Finally, the town comes into sight
Songs of glory and valor could be heard in the night
Unsuspectingly I came tearing through the streets
Yelling, "To arms, the red coats are coming! Their charge we must meet"
The city came to life and a war was started
But in the end we were victorious the charge we thwarted
