Women have affairs for most of the same reasons men do.

                           Why Women Cheat

A lot of information has been written about men, their affairs, and why they have them.  There seems to be much less written on women who do the same thing.  Women have affairs for basically the same reasons as men do.

Some enjoy sex and like men can’t seem to be satisfied in this area of their marriages.  We normally think of men as being more sexually driven than women but this is not necessarily true .

Some have been exposed to sex as children or teenagers due to being molested and or raped and this exposure to the sexual areas causes problems for them..  Some because of this become confused and actually start acting out sexually.  The same is true for males that have had this terrible thing to happen to them.

The media has worked overtime to put to much emphasis on sex as in movies, newspapers, commericals, books, as well as other print media.

Our pre-adolescent children are targeted in many of these areas and this contributes to this problem.

So young girls grow into teenagers and by that time many have become sexually active.  Later they then seriously start thinking of marriage and fall in love and marry. Many of them have happy marriages but for the ones that don't there will may be serious problems.

And many just like the males become restless in their marriages for many reasons.  They might feel they are losing their edge and want to see if they can attract another male.  Yes, there is a mid life crisis in a female too.  When they find that they can attract someone else, many of them cross the line and the affair starts.

Women also grow bored, lonely, restless and yearning for different experiences.  These are normal feelings to an extent.

Many of these women feel that they are  being ignored by husbands that are work-a-holics with little time to spend with their wives or children.  So they many times seek out males that show some interest in them sometimes and have common ground with them.

Sometimes the wife in these marriages does not work and  she grows lonely and bored and as they watch  husbands fish, hunt, participate in other sports and in general  run with the boys.  They sometimes have an affair to entertain themselves.

There might be a husband who pays far little attention to an attractive wife.  He many times abstains from giving her compliments or fails to satisfy her sexually.  These women are easy targets for men looking for someone.

And of course sometimes the husband finds intimacy with the same woman boring so he looks for someone else.  Women do the same thing.

Also, sometimes a stay at home wife goes back to school to get that degree and in the process awakes that sleeping woman.  She starts growing intellectually, socially, and starts longing for contact with more interesting people.  She sometimes actually outgrows her husband intellectually.

Then soon she meets someone that meets many of the needs described above and she in involved quickly in an affair.

Women that have affairs like the thrill, excitement, and temptation. And yes there is joy even when you know you are doing something wrong.

When women do have affairs, they many times end in heartbreak for herself and the affair partner.  Sometimes she stays in the old marriage after the affair is in the open but in some cases a divorce is seen and she does not usually marry the affair partner.

Of course, a lot of damage is done to families on all sides when an affair takes place.  Hearts are broken, families are damaged and torn apart, and friends are lost.  Again children suffer the most.

So women have affairs for basically the same reasons as men do.  The results are also the same.  A lot of heartache.

For those that might find themselves entertaining this option, plead with your spouse to go to therapy.  If they refuse, go alone.

Thank you Aubrey for sharing, as I have always felt there are as many women as men who cheat out there. I happen to know there can be a good, strong relationship between two as long as the two continue to work together and keep their love alive. Thank you again.

Well It'a ABOUT TIME!!! <smile>

Thank you for being BOLD ENOUGH in presenting this sensational/salacious topic from a "different perspective" altogether--(why "WOMEN" CHEAT!)
We get enough "Male Bashing" from two other (I won't mentioned any names...har! har!)Den Writers whose primary goal in life is to dig up ALL the different ways & avenues that men cheat.
One would think they'd get tired of "beating that same ole drum" over and over again. <smile>

All the best;

With my peers at work and speaking from their confidences (no names here) Most women have affairs to "get even" with their husband thinking this will "even the score". It is what it is...cheating. No one wins and the score is still a bitter pill in the long run.

Thanks aubrey!
