Washington D C: The Hollywood of the East?
It amazes me how someone who makes a living as a “Professional" liar can profess to be a spokesperson for millions of followers. I’m talking about all the actors in Hollywood and other members of the stage and screen sect.
Why do I call them “liars”?
A good actor must be able to pretend he is someone else without showing remorse or any sign of false hood. When someone makes you pay for the privilege of watching them pretend to be someone they aren’t and try to convince you that what is false is true , they are not professing the "truth". Therefore, all actors and movie and stage personnel make a living by projecting a falsehood in the name of “entertainment".
That makes them all professional "Liars".
Why would someone who is so good at pretending a falsehood is true , think they would make a good spokesperson for someone else? It is unbelievable that they get so caught up in their fame and popularity that they think they are qualified to speak for millions of “followers”, who only go to their performances to be entertained.
In the last election you saw most of the “Hollywood crowd” coming out for one candidate while trashing the other one and thinking that they can sway voters and guarantee the success of their candidate. That is misplaced arrogance if there is such a thing.
They should stick to their profession of acting and be content with simply “entertaining”.
It is equally amazing how much politicians resemble the above crowd. They too make a living professing untruths that they know to be false but which will win votes and keep them in power. That makes them "professional liars" also.
Maybe that's why many actors have gone on to be successful politicians. Its getting harder and harder to tell if a politician is "acting" or is sincere, if there is such a thing.
Normally, it happens just before an election, but for three and a half years now we have been bombarded with lies and falsehoods from the media of all kinds and talking heads in network news to the point that nobody in Washington DC, the newsprint, or network news, has any real credibility. Yet they all believe, like actors, that their “following” will take every word they say as the truth.
Both camps make one large mistake that eventually will come back to bite them. They believe the public adores them so much that they are the real power of the people. The viewing public will eventually figure out what is happening and ignore what they are saying. That did happen to some degree this last election.
In spite of 3 years of the “Russian Hoax", blasting the airwaves with lies, and false accusations, 75 million voters ignored all that and voted for the object of their attacks. Also, instead of a “Blue Wave”, it was the opposite. That shows that there are still some voters out there that will think for themselves and not follow the “media” as brain-dead zombies.
Politicians, like Newsprint, Network News, and Actors should stick to what the general public expects of them.
Pass important bills in Congress
Print factual, unbiased news
Tell the unbiased truth when reporting news stories
And for Actors, do what you do best, act and perform for our entertainment and amusement.
Actors have always had power. TV actors and stage actors as well as Hollywood actors. Some make a lot of money like business moguls and spend it on their political favorites.
You seem to forget that actors, using their on stage personas, have been very successful as political candidates… Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump (10 years of the Apprentice establishing his ability to fire people at will).
