Relativity
by Hewitt E Moore
Pondering the thought of relevance, one must wonder his. Living for the next life, all the while neglecting the one which is guaranteed seems a farce at best. The ones with an undying devotion to their faith must be commended and envied, for others with the analytical attributes genetically woven into their thought process aren't so lucky.
The hand of time never ceases to revolve in its infinite status, yet all else does. Relativity in a sense is meaningless darkness before and after the nanosecond of our existence expires. When the last living soul passes away whose memory your presence touched, you are no more. More so than that, all your stresses, sweats, tears, and worries were of utter unimportance. All the books/essays/writings (such as this one) with one's philosophy upon existence and its relevance will matter nonetheless, whether we concur it as fact or fiction.
Idealistically, our souls will transfer from their physical locale and enter a spiritual heaven/afterlife in death. More likely, the nothingness which transpired pre-birth will take precedence post death. I know people of faith would strongly disagree, but I can't short circuit my thought process to believe in things and happenings I know are outside the realms of logic (at least mine). If only my mind would allow me to believe in magical kingdoms inhabited by spirits after I decease, then I too would be awaiting my entrance through the pearly gates of forever.
What I can do is live each second on earth as though it were my last. Showering loved ones with love, picking my battles in relevance of importance, and practicing what I preach. Hypocrisy tends to supersede standards according to acceptance by the masses. Stand true to your values and continue in the search for enlightening purpose which will allow the second hand to continue its ticking with reason. The answers one proposes aren't always found in writing (contrary to popular belief). The desired knowledge is within the unexplored caverns of thought. In those caverns you will encounter rabid bats, poisonous spiders, venomous snakes, and unforeseen pitfalls; Or the hidden treasure containing the meaning of life. Put aside your “hope” for a next life, and swing for the fences in this one.
