Kristina "Tina" M. Bailey, 23, of Pennington Gap, is palanning a book signing in the next few weeks of her novel, Next Time Around, expected to be available sometime in April. She said Monday that the romance/comedy short novel of 120 pages has already received an overwhelming response in interest and preorders. Born November 30, 1978 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Bailey is the daughter of Aubrey and Jennifer Stapleton of Dryden. She has a brother Kris "Twiddle" Stapleton, who works with their dad at Super Service in west Pennington Gap. Her mother is a licensed practical nurse. She is married (since June 1999) to Ron Bailey of Dryden, who works with R.S. Jones Construction (now in the Dryden area). Tina is front end manager at Food City in Pennington Gap, where she plans to hold her book signing. She said she really enjoys her job and her co-workers, saying she has had their support during the completion of her book. Her manager at the store is Raymond Stockard. She also works part-time for a clothing store (since she was 17). Bailey has two dogs, a six-wks old male cocker spaniel, Toby:and a one-yr-old female mutt named PeeWee. She graduated in 1996 from Lee High School, where she was a football and basketball cheerleader for the LHS Generals. Her hobbies include her friends, fishing, and writing in her spare time. "I have always wanted to write," she said, adding, "Pennington Gap is the perfect place to persue a career as an author. It's so quiet and everyone knows everyone. I have never left this little town and I never plan to. I grew up here, made my best friends her, and started my career here in this perfect little gap."
