Lewis, a brilliant, well-respected Christian author, lecturer and speaker felt isolated when his wife died of cancer. And he was not alone. Many people who loose spouses feel the same way every day. Many of these people are among us: Neighbors, co-workers, friends, family or fellow church members. What do we do or say that will encourage our widowed friends?
First, we must know what not to say. These three guidelines comprise most common mistakes, based upon my research and talks with widows:
