Good perhaps for my sitcom?

The Life Of George
Even as we speak…This is a gas.
Covid saved me a shower, or two or three?
This is not a recording.

I didn’t get a gas bill last month. I waited but it never came? I figured it got lost in the mail, or something like that.

So yesterday, I’m sitting at my computer and a girl pulls up in a SWG Vehicle. She gets out and walks to the side of my house.
This is where it gets good, because I can see her through the blinds, but she cannot see me.
I figured she was reading the meter.
She came back out, went to her vehicle, got something out of it, and approached my house. I waited for the doorbell to ring, but she left, completely, vehicle and all.
I wondered how she could know I wasn’t her type without even seeing me?
There was a hanger on my doorknob.
It said they were not shutting off my gas because of Covid, and if I was the new party, I should call to set up an account.

WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

I got on The Internet but could not connect to SWG because they wanted my account number.
I don’t know my account number? I open the envelope, write a check, tear off the stub, throw the rest away, and mail it.
Note: I wrote down my account number.

I could do nothing online so I called them. “The wait to talk to an agent will be 15 minutes.”
So I waited.
I must have dialed India because a person with an accent prevalent to that direction answered the phone. I could not understand him?
I asked for him to speak better. He could not understand me.

He asked for my account number?
“That’s the problem…I need for you to give it to me.”
What is the address on the account?
I had to spell it repeatedly.
What is your name?
I had to spell it repeatedly.
I do not see that name…The line went dead.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Today I got online and found my account had been closed. I thought maybe my last payment was lost? I checked my bank, it was cashed.

There was an office close to my house… I went there.

I gave the girl all of my information. She ran everything through her computer and said, “It seems somebody else cancelled your service.”

You mean like an identity thief?

“No…they probably moved and gave the wrong address.”
I’m thinking, Or maybe the person taking the order wrote down the wrong address? They never admit guilt on their part.

The house next door is a rental unit. They’re moving in and out all the time. “Someone just moved out about a month ago.”

“Well they’re the ones. I just redid all of your stuff and reconnected your account.”

Thank You!

So, the fact remains. If it were not for Covid, they would have not put the door hanger on my door, and would have shut off my gas, with me wondering why? WHY?

Can you believe that?
