When it rains in my world, the Coast Guard wouldn't stand a chance.
Mmph, Mmph, Mmph. Who knew I had this much patience?
First I have to finish grading papers, which tend to replicate like rabbit sperm in the spring.
Next, I get calls from my mother about Mother's Day to bring my "Best Dish." (My best dish is one that is called "Catered Dish.")
Finally, this prostate cancer surgery thing comes at the end of the semester when my students--for the most part anyway-- want to suddenly impress me with serious speech topics that actually have more to do with cerebral mantras deeper than "how to bake cookies." (Well, I must admit the cookies were pretty good.)
I just found out my Hippie Doc (Dr. Debbie) lost her liscense. I don't want to know why because most of the world wouldn't give a rip anyway when it comes to the truth--I know it's not because she's a bad doctor. Top it all off, my pharmacy (one-of-them-big-ol'-chain-outfits) told me that my medication was recalled, when my NEW doctor (bless Dr. Mai) said when she called she found out otherwise.
Then I had to get stuck numerous times for my cholesterol check and a blood test to make sure my FDA approved Benicar (that wasn't recalled like my 'qualified' pharmacist technician said it was) isn't causing me to have kidney problems.
And, I haven't even cleaned up my house. But that ain't news.
All in all I've learned three things:
1. Virgos like me are not perfect, regardless of what your black Virgo mother with Jewish overtones says. . .
2. Germs will not kill you if your house is a little bit dusty, regardless of what your black Virgo mother with Jewish overtones says. . . and
3. When your kids leave home you don't have to do anything but eat pinto beans and cornbread, have sex with your spouse and run around naked all day long, as long as no surprise visitors come to call. (Among them, grown children who still have keys that fit the lock to the front door.)
Don't worry. My kids will only see me naked if one of them becomes a medical examiner and I want to save money on post-mortem bills.
I'll let you all know how my husband's prostate cancer surgery turns out. But for now, I've got to help "keep his gonads healthy" before he goes into the hospital.
blessin's, from a perimenopausal and extremely proud to be nude in private, AD woman,
