Greed and powerseeking has no place in any Christian's life; especially televagelists and others in high political office who swear in the oath with "So Help Me God."
If the recently departed Pope John Paul II was still alive, I'd urge peace seekers to write congress as a choice for U.S. Ambassador so the world would know we are not a narrow-minded "God bless America and no place else" nation.
The following in a note from a friend in my husband's ancestors town of Abbeville SC. John Blythe (associated with the Abbeville Historical Society) sent this without knowledge of this poem.
All I have to say is God definitely knows how to share and network the gift of knowledge and wisdom. (Thanks for sending this John!)

years-and as much as every exponent of this faith has attempted to dodge this idea-it is unarguably the central tenet of Christianity: that everybody is equal in God's eyes. So you cannot, as a Christian, walk away from Africa.
America will be judged by God if, in its plenty, it crosses the road from 23 million people suffering from HIV, the leprosy of the day.
What's up on trial here is Christianity itself. You cannot walk away from this and call yourself a Christian and sit in power. Distance does not decide who is your brother and who is not.
The church is going to have to become the conscience of the free market if it's to have any meaning in this world-and stop being its apologist.

When the anti (in place of) Christ comes, he will not find a ready audience among these Anabaptist groups. But I fear that the rest of us will be as easily duped as we are today by our anti-President. Adolf Bush lies and commandeers the bombing and maiming of tens of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans while sacrificing our troops - many held hostage through the backdoor draft (www.VeteransForPeace.org). That tv box has been called Satan's trojan horse and it is indeed powerful in distracting us from the mayhem of the turncoats in Washington, District of Criminals: Iraq, Afghanistan, and Latin America. Vietnam, Korea, and Vieques before that. CIA-installed dictators like Saddam Hussein who CIA put in power in '62.
