With the coming of computers, strange now how we are dependent on the mouse. It misbehaves, or gets stuck we have had it. No longer the case of ‘Three blind mice’ that had their tails cut off by the farmer’s wife. Now we pamper them, clean them and pray that they function as programmed. Our situation is like the believer at Karni Mata temple of Bikaner where mice is worshipped and offered milk by the very many devotees. The only difference being that one is natural and the other man made. Here the mouse is venerated as the vehicle of Ganesh. So we do not want a Pied Piper of Hamlin to rid us of the menace. For it’s no longer threatening and dangerous. On the contrary extremely intelligent and making our lives easier. In fact the more mice the merrier? Still better if it comes in as many different shapes and sizes. I wonder why they call it a mouse? And the plural will be mice or mouses? It doesn’t look like the one we have been familiar with and been frightened of (their destructive capacity). Mooshika in Sanskrit as Divir (my son) liked to call one of his friends for her apparent mouse–like qualities is now transformed beyond recognition. No cats to frighten it, instead it holds us to ransom by it’s erratic behaviour.
Black white (well sort of pinkish) etcetera, Christian Muslim etcetera, Hetero-Homo-Metro Sexual, Physical, Mental, Ow! Includes all human rights violations I could think of.
