Once upon a time, in a land far, far away...
OOPS! That's another tale! This one deals with both the wonderment of Language, and the zaniness of possible Thought Patterns. HUH?
Someone much wiser than I once said that "Nothing is carved in stone!" Another adage is: "Nothing is Sacred." Still another: "Think outside the box!"
From innocent little children we were taught many, many, many ---- RULES!
You CAN'T do this... You MUST do that... Never, never, never EVER... "Don't walk on the grass!"
"Cross only at the Crosswalks!" "Do NOT pass GO - Do not COLLECT $200..."
Years ago, when my kids were little tykes, there was a TV show that always had a little skit called "Fractured Fairytales." I LOVED IT !!!
Needless to say, I incorporated the concept into my personal thinking process. George Karlin calls his "Brain Droppings."
"Oxymoron's Osmosis" might be apropos for mine?
"READ ON MacDUFF!"

OXYMORON – what a wonderful word! What does it mean? Let’s see what WIKIPEDIA says:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
“An oxymoron (plural oxymora or, more commonly, oxymorons) (noun) is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms.
Oxymoron is a Greek term derived from oxy ("sharp") and moros ("dull"). The meaning is "that which is sharp and dull," thereby designating and also exhibiting an opposition between two adjectives which serve as predicates for one subject.
Oxymorons are a proper subset of the expressions called contradictions in terms. What distinguishes oxymora from other paradoxes and contradictions is that they are used intentionally, for rhetorical effect, and the contradiction is only apparent, as the combination of terms provides a novel expression of some concept, such as "cruel to be kind".
The most common form of oxymoron involves an adjective–noun combination. For example, the following line from Tennyson's Idylls of the King contains two oxymora:
"And faith unfaithful kept him falsely true "
Oxymorons can also be wooden irons or sideroxylons in that they are in violation of the Principle of contradiction which asserts that nothing can be thought if it contains contradictory characteristics, predicates, attributes, or qualities.”
WHOA there Pardner, there’s two more terms I never heard of! So, let’s stick to our guns and think about our chosen word – OXYMORON, okay?
The next step is to apply some “poetic license” and/or “sick logic.” In my warped mind, OXY makes me think of oxygen, or AIR. It then follows that a MORON is a person devoid, or empty of intelligence. Which brings me to the combined conclusion of AIR-HEAD!
If you were to take the time to look this term up in: Merriam-Webster, or Wikipedia, or even your all-time favorite TV show, Rowan and Martin’s “LAUGH-IN” phrase, your FUNK & WAGNALL --? you would find a picture of yours truly – ME!
