Could our dilemma be resolved by a cyclical encyclical? When all of the major scientists of the world are in agreement, yet a handful of so-called political 'leaders' still dispute the facts - what should we call them? ASSHOLES! Works for me!

I just finished watching a documentary entitled: PLANET in PERIL. Excellent truths are revealed showing several things:

Climate Change - Over-Population - Destruction of Rain Forests - Destruction of Air Quality - Extinction of Animal Species - Drought - Sinking Islands - Starvation - Thirst - and More - LYING POLITICIANS WITH SELF-SERVING INTERESTS - GEE, WHAT A SURPRISE!

After further thought, perhaps my title above should be changed to GENICIDE? Well, that would be apropos, if we wanted to blame just THE CORPORATIONS OF THE WORLD - as legal entities, they practice NO MORAL RESPONSIBILITIES - JUST GREED!

But my original thought process was that MAN - MANKIND - in the scramble for MORE - MORE - MORE - has brought all of this upon OURSELVES. A basic, self-serving philosophy has crept into the daily lives of each and every one of us.

Since the Industrial Revolution, with all of its machines and factories spewing out FUMES into the atmosphere, we have allowed ourselves to be lured down the PRIMROSE PATH of our own DESTRUCTION!

Since the end of World War Two, for the past FIFTY-PLUS YEARS, everything has been a total act of selfishness - GIM’ME - GIM’ME - GIM’ME!

I WANT MORE! AND I WANT MORE CHOICES - COLOR, SHAPE, SIZE, POWER - I WANT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WITH P-R-I-D-E! I DON’T CARE WHAT IT COSTS! I AM DUMB ENOUGH TO PAY WHATEVER PRICE IT TAKES, TO GET WHAT I WANT! ME! ME! ME!

Who cares what happens on the other side of the world? It doesn’t affect me - I’m not hungry! I’m not thirsty! I’m not unemployed! I’m not starving! I’m not sick! I’m not dying! I’m not destitute! In the infamous words of Marie Antoinette:
“Let Them Eat Cake!”

Well, we all know what that got her, don’t we?

So, anyway, without a lot of “who struck John” and other BS, Let’s cut to the chase - GLOBAL WARMING IS KILLING OUR PLANET - but exactly which leaders and politicians really give a RAT’S ASS? Hell, face it, some of them are lucky if they even know how to WIPE THEIR OWN BUTTS!!

Assume for one moment that all they care about is AMASSING a fortune, which will pass through their estates, down to their DUMBER-THAN-DUMB offspring, because they hope that they will be dead and buried before this predicted CATACLYSM occurs, right?

Well then, if they have no regard for their own families: sons, daughters, grand-children, widows, widowers - what makes you think that they really GIVE A DAMN about future generations? DUH!

Like I said: GIM’ME - GIM’ME - GIM’ME - must be some kind of human SYNDROME, I guess?

But, let us leave the concept of the human element, for just a moment. Whether it is natural phenomenon in the form of MOTHER NATURE, or SUPERNATURAL phenomenon, in the form of a vengeful, punishing GOD, the RESULT is the same - this planet we call EARTH IS REACTING TO ALL THAT MANKIND HAS DONE AGAINST IT!

Ice Age - Melting Glaciers - Floods - Death of Dinosaurs and Mastodons - Erupting Volcanoes - Tsunamis - Earthquakes - Tornadoes - Hurricanes - Tropical Storms and Depressions - Typhoons - Mysteriously LOST CIVILIZATIONS - perhaps it is all just a natural CYCLE? Maybe we just helped to speed it up a tad by our STUPIDITY and GREED?

SUICIDE - a self-inflicted demise - OH WELL - THAT’S LIFE! Or rather, THAT’S DEATH!

As I now attempt to close this meandering melodrama, a profound statement learned in High School Physics comes to mind. “For every Action, there is an alternate, or equal, reaction!”

My mind then drifts backward in time to the sands of New Mexico, Los Alamos? - Was it around 1946? - The very FIRST ATOMIC BOMB TEST!

What if that little teensy-weensy PUSH against the crust of the EARTH just happened to MOVE it somehow? A slight change - a tilt of a partial degree on its axis - a mere nanosecond of its speed of revolution around the sun - a minute impact upon the orbit of the Moon -

GEE - how long might it take for that REACTION to become even a glimmer of a question in the combined minds of such a race of SUICIDAL STUPIDITY?

I WONDER! I PONDER! COULD IT SPLIT US ASUNDER?

NAH - THERE’S NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE!
OR, IS THERE? GIM’ME - GIM’ME - GIM’ME!
