After you fill up your gas-tank, if you have any left-over money - INVEST it! Buy OIL FUTURES - they are bound to go up, especially if and when the market begins to CRASH!

It's OKAY to make money at the expense of all your fellow Americans - in fact, our GUVMINT CONDONES IT!

While I could not find the actual author’s name for these excerpts, the following are apropos to understanding WHY and HOW the American Public, and the World-at-Large is being RIPPED OFF!

« The Questionable Extent of Saudi Arabian Oil Reserves | Main | A 'Peak' Behind the Curtain At The EIA »

May 10, 2005 ? (note: posted 3 years ago!)

Emerging Dominance of Sovereign Oil Producers Presents Challenges To The West

It requires more than an understanding of geology and the mathematical models of M. King Hubbert to fully appreciate the complex situation that has led to the approaching inability of the world's oil producers to adequately meet the growing demand for crude oil. Significant political and economic considerations have also played an important role in getting us to this point, and these factors might actually turn out to be more important than the fundamental geological constraints will be in determining the future price of oil, the health of the world's economies and which conflicts (political, economic and military) arise in the coming decade.

Several decades ago, the vast majority of the world's oil production was performed by commercial oil companies under negotiated "concessions" that were granted by the sovereign government of the country in which the oil reserves are located. The concession for oil exploration and production in Saudi Arabia, for example, was granted to Standard Oil of California (later Chevron) by King Abd al-'Aziz in the 1930s, and was later shared by Texaco, Exxon and Mobil operating together under the name Aramco. During that period of time, the important decisions as to infrastructure investment, production and capacity were made by the oil companies, not the Saudis.

Similar arrangements existed during that time in other major oil producing countries such as Iran, Iraq and Venezuela. Since nearly all of the commercial oil companies were either American or European, this effectively gave control of capacity and production decisions to the Western industrialized countries that were the main importers of crude oil.

The picture changed considerably in the mid-1970s, when several major oil exporting nations, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, "nationalized" their oil industries by revoking the concessions that were previously held by commercial oil companies and assumed control of the oil-producing infrastructure.

The right to produce oil in those countries was henceforth limited to "national" or "sovereign" oil companies that are controlled by the sovereign government of the country. Saudi Aramco might have retained its name, but it now answers to Saudi Arabia's ruling family instead of Wall Street and corporate America.

The countries that nationalized their oil industries in the 1970s also formed the core of OPEC, a cartel created for the purpose of maintaining the price of oil at well above its cost of extraction by limiting supply.”

END of QUOTE.

NOW - all of a sudden, after FIVE YEARS of American Blood being spilled on Iraqi soil - NOW - the New Government, the New Regime announces a Short-Term CONTRACT made with CERTAIN U.S. Commercial Oil Corporations, granting them undisclosed ‘future concessions” that might be Long-Term! Well, at least until they learn HOW to do it themselves! (think Tower of Babel).

HOW CONVENIENT!

GEE - there couldn’t possibly be any COLLUSION here, could it?

So, let us consider what might be the WHY-and WHERE- Fores:

1. Back in 1939, the British were the First ‘foreigners’ allowed into Northern Iraq - but, constant RAIDS on the pipelines deterred this attempted operation. TODAY, almost 70 years later, the same problem still exists in Northern Iraq, near the Turkish border.

2. During the 1940’s - WWII took precedence over WHO was controlling WHAT oil fields, we all know that the NAZIS gave it the good old ‘college try’ didn’t they? CHEEZ - instead we have Islamo-Fascists! That, is certainly more GOODER, right?

3. Let’s face the simple TRUTH - while the oil was over There - the rag-head, tribal-warring, religious-fanatic, Sheik-controlled camel- jockeys had NO TECHNICAL EXPERTISE whatsoever on HOW to extract it efficiently! Enter the aforementioned FOUR MAJOR U.S. companies. From the late 40’s through the late 60’s - a good 20 year period - THEY RAPED the ARABS! AND NO PETROLEUM JELLY!

4. In the early 70’s the A-RABS got wise, and NATIONALIZED their oil fields - and KICKED THE GREEDY AMERICANS OUT! While it may be difficult to prove it, especially with pictures, I’ll bet some of our esteemed MEDIA Corporations have suppressed archival footage of the News, way back then, showing RAG-HEADS with AK-47’s BLOCKING ENTRANCE TO AMERICAN WORKERS! THEY don’t PLAY GAMES!

5. Since then, OPEC has controlled it all, making more money than you can ‘shake a stick at!’ These Sheiks, and Shahs, and Imams, and so-called ‘Royal Families’ have lived ‘high off the hog’ - and had more money than they knew what to do with! Besides coming to the U.S. and BUYING: ARMS, AMMUNITION, AIRPLANES, AND GETTING THEIR PILOTS TRAINED RIGHT HERE - like even, SADDAM HUSSEIN - (may ALLAH rest his soul and give him 70 or more VIRGINS) - then, they got even wiser!

6. Our stupid government NON-leaders then allowed them to BUY PROPERTY HERE - LAND - BUILDINGS - COMPANIES - DUH!

And then - besides EDUCATING all their ENGINEERS and SCIENTISTS, they helped them to START BANKS and STOCK MARKET INVESTMENTS - DOUBLE DUH! OH - and even some control of PORT FACILITIES - (might want to send over a ‘Dirty-Bomb, or Two) - TRIPLE DUH!

7. Then - LO & BEHOLD - 9-11 OCCURS! Somehow, completely unbeknownst to our ELITE - CIA, FBI, NSA, and every other FRIGGING GOVERNMENT AGENCY - less than TWO DOZEN FANATICAL RAG-HEADS SHOCKED THE SHIT OUT OF 270,000,000 AMERICANS - KILLING about 3,000 INNOCENT VICTIMS!

The number of DUH’s here totally escapes me! Just like the BULL-SHIT CATASTROPHE of December 7th, 1941, where the Japanese Ambassador was KISSING ASS in D.C. - we experienced - TORA -TORA - TORA! That, Dear Patriot, was a GANG of DUH’s!

8. Next, in 2003 - a “Born-Again Christian, Draft-Dodger, Dumb-Dumb’ - somehow convinces Congress (another Illustrious Bunch of ‘DO-NOTHINGS’) - that because of INVISIBLE WMD - IT IS OKAY TO INVADE IRAQ AND START WAR! Absolutely No Chance of Collusion Here Either, Right?

Lobbyists can’t Vote, can they? I call this phenomena - Bulging Pocket Syndrome!

DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! DUH! ? that’s only 1 Dozen!

9. Which now brings us back to the Present - the GIFT - after 5 years of: IED’s, Blown-Off Limbs, BODY BAGS, THOUSANDS of Young VETERANS with PTSD returning Home to NO JOBS, and a Veterans Administration and LAME DUCK ADMINISTRATION with DEAF EARS -

NOW - a New Bunch of RAG-HEADS is making a DEAL with - SA-PRIZE - SA-PRIZE - SA-PRIZE - certain U.S. War-Mongering, Excess-Profit-Taking, GREEDY SOB OIL CORPORATIONS! DUH?

Can you Say - DUH?
Do you even have a Modicum of Common Sense?

Are you STOOOOOOOOOOOOPID?
Has APATHY made You into a FRIGGING ZOMBIE?
Are You BRAINDEAD?
Are you Blind? Deaf? Dumb?

OH - GOODY - GOODY - GOODY -

WE CAN HAVE A THIRD TERM BUSH!

Maintain the STATUS QUO!

Don’t Rock the Boat!

My Rectum Sphincter is already STRETCHED -
so give me MORE!

Response to your #5 point above. OPEC has controlled it all because the left wing in this country has consistently stopped oil development. While Norway, Russia, Brazil and others developed their oil industries (and are now exporting oil, and gettin' rich), we elected democrats who made us feel good about saving desolate regions like the ANWR Coastal plain. Of course that was supposed to force car compaines or energy companies, or ___________ to come up with something. I have often wondered why the nobel winning scientist Al Gore can't get a few of the very wealthy scientist from Hollywood, and a few fellow die hard environmentalists together. and lock themselves in a room and come up with the one great alternative energy that will set America free from oil. If you tell me it is already here, then WHY don't those same people form a huge energy corporation and save the planet ...and make a few pennies too. Cause talk is cheap ...and so are the books they sell to suckers who lap up their 'I NEED TO FEEL RELEVANT' drivel. The truth is that America uses slighly more oil today than we did around 1980. Factor in the growth in GDP and population growth, and that is quite impressive. Must we get better? Yes, but like all technologies there will be a gradual transition as one energy source becomes more expensive and another becomes cheaper. Unfortunately we may be witnessing what happens when the micro-managing democrats try to force this transition before its time. I remember when Jimmy Carter said we could run out of oil sometime in the 80's, then it was the nineties, then 2002 or so. The latest projection is that if oil demand continues at the current pace, and IF no new oil sources are found will will run out of oil in 2052. Those are big ifs considering we are becoming more efficient and that will get better as China, India, and others become more efficient. And, considering new and better discovery techniques are helping to discover giant oil fields (Like the recent find in Brazil) who knows what more is out there. Also, its worth noting that many Eastern European countries have believed that oil is a renewable geologic phenomena (oil at depths far deeper than fossil level).

Sorry, but while I agree there were things we could have done better these past 40 years, It is my opinion that the greed and stupidity was on the part of those who were greedy to make a name for themselves as holier than thou for their love of mother nature, and the stupidity was on the part of those who voted them in office! The reasonable were trying to pass legislation that would make us less dependent on those who hate us.

Don’t you fret, my friend. Our extremely sage ‘leaders’ already have a marvelous new oil plan all cooked up and ready to go – they’re really gonna show ‘em, this time!

They’re gonna authorize drilling every inch of our own coastlines, and we’re gonna pump up some more of that great old black gold for ourselves. And if the oil gods are on our side, we should be able to milk about 3-5 years’ worth, and if we’re really lucky, this will knock the price of gas down a penny or two a gallon, and American citizens will simply rejoice at this remarkable achievement, and they won’t even mind one bit the 50 – 100 million dollar salaries the oil company execs will continue to enjoy.

And based on the new ‘feel good’ citizen attitude in the good old U.S. of A., good old Detroit will once again start cranking out even bigger gas guzzlers than we had before, (at much higher prices, of course), and we’re all gonna be so damned happy again, toolin around town showing them off to our neighbors, and bragging about our American ingenuity.

But alas, about 10 years from now, after we’ve trashed our own once beautiful coastlines, killed off everything that once swam or flew off our shores, and depleted the very last drop of our own oil, we will once again be on our knees begging OPEC to give us a good deal on their oil, or to give us any deal at all, so we can still crawl to work in our gas guzzlers.

Yes Sir, we’re really gonna show ‘em, this time. Our ‘leaders’ are really gonna save the day, this time!

Who needs electric and hydrogen driven and solar vehicles like most other countries will have mass produced by then – certainly not us. We love OIL; it’s the good old American way. To hell with them new Japanese Water Cars – who needs ‘em – our ‘leaders’ got a plan!

And to answer your question: Can Common Sense Overcome Greed and Stupidity?

Sadly, NO – at least not in the good old oil loving U.S. of A.

Duh Duh Duh times 7 is all I have to say but I read every word in this write and hope I understand it. You surely said lots and it is all the truth and nothing but the truth. Won't stand up in a court of law though cause the courts are just as crooked these days as the oil co. and low and behold no Bush 3rd term, I couldn't take it.
