What Price Lip Service?

As I frequently do, while working, I listened to 88.1 FM, NPR - National Public Radio - yesterday.

If you want to actually hear some TRUTH in the News, I highly recommend this station.

Just one of the topics yesterday was the Pharmaceutical Industry. Between the conglomerate Group, PHARMA and the individual manufacturers, they ‘DONATED’ - OVER FORTY (40) MILLION DOLLARS TO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS - for so-called ‘LOBBYING’ efforts! That was JUST IN ONE YEAR!

These ‘RIP-OFF’ ARTISTS have been RAPING - SENIORS, the PUBLIC, and the MEDICARE INSURANCE COFFERS FOR YEARS NOW!

Have you all too soon forgot that latest BOONDOGGLE - which CONGRESS named Medicare Part D - Prescription Coverage?

While IT was a totally necessary and far too late benefit, which was DENIED TO SENIOR CITIZENS - FOR OVER 40 YEARS - this particular ‘version’ had every Insurance Company just ‘champing at the bit’ to get in on this diabolical ‘ACTION!’

JUST WHO DO YOU THINK GOT ALL THE PROFITS?

YEP - the avarice-ridden Pharmaceutical Companies! In COLLUSION with both CONGRESS, as well as the Insurance Companies - WE THE PEOPLE - GOT ‘RIPPED OFF’ YET AGAIN!

Co-Pays and Deductibles, NON-COVERED GENERICS, and the now infamous ‘DONUT-HOLES’ were purposely RIGGED - and poor, old, retired, sick SENIOR CITIZENS - were left ‘HOLDING THE BAG!’

OUTRAGEOUS MARKED-UP PRICES FOR: DRUGS, MEDS, MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, DIABETIC SUPPLIES, HEART MEDICATIONS, HYPERTENSION PILLS, CANCER TREATMENTS - AND MORE ... you know, those ‘little’ things, that poor people - NEED TO STAY ALIVE - the main KILLERS in AMERICA - HOW QUAINT!

Now, of course, the AMA - American Medical Association, ALL THE FREAKING OVER-PAID DOCTORS AND PHYSICIANS - had nothing to do with this BOONDOGGLE (a government project of little practical value funded to gain political favor) - had absolutely nothing to do with this - or DID THEY?

If any honest, caring physician understood and had ‘a priori’ knowledge (conceived or formulated before investigation or experience) - why would he/she NOT PURPOSELY PRESCRIBE ALL GENERIC DRUGS - IN ORDER TO SAVE THEIR PATIENTS HUGE SUMS OF MONEY?

WHY INDEED? Because then, the higher-cost famous ADVERTISED (costly because of this) - NAME BRANDS would be still SITTING ON THE SHELVES - wouldn’t they?

Is there such a thing as ‘COLLUSION BY NON-ACTION?’

Now, just for the sheer ‘fun’ of it, let’s see if we can identify any possible CYCLE here.

1. CHEMICAL MANUFACTURERS - like maybe Monsanto and E.I. du Pont de Nemours - FOOTNOTE: THEY JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE AN OFFICE AT 1701 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, WASH. D.C. - THE WHITE HOUSE IS AT 1600 ! Just to name two - ‘donate’ money to Congress for ‘Lobbying’ efforts.

2. THE FDA - Federal Drug Administration - conveniently APPROVES, or ALLOWS various and sundry ADDITIVES into our FOOD SUPPLY SYSTEM. Supposed - Preservatives, Artificial Flavorings, Additives, and Food Colorings, Dyes, Sugars, Artificial Sweeteners (like Nutrasweet, Splenda, ASPARTAME (and other POISONS) - Please Note that they were not content with just putting this CRAP into so-called “DIET” Sodas, and a few years ago, it was quietly SNUCK INTO all of our Baked Goods also! More Quaintness!

3. FAST FOODS - Americans are busy people - STUPID - but busy - so they all rush into every chain imaginable, like: Mickey D’s, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Burger King, every Ma & Pa Pizza & Sub Shop - and simply GORGE on all these wonderful ADDITIVES. And, by some sheer chance of coincidence, SOMEBODY ? thought they were not getting their ‘money’s worth’ - so - we all got SUPER-SIZED! Oh, Goody - how BRILLIANT!

4. DIABETES AND OBESITY - for some strange, unknown reason, we now have these two KILLERS in EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS NOW! DUH! Now, of couse, this fact has absolutely nothing to do with Escalating Healthcare Costs, right? That’s all conveniently blamed on us SMOKERS, by The Non-Smoking NAZIS! CERTAINLY MAKES GOOD SENSE, DOESN’T IT?

5. CONGRESS PASSES MEDICARE - PART D - PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE - for some odd MILLIONS of patients - 20-30-40- 50 ? Certainly not an insignificant MARKET, eh wot?

6. PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURERS - ‘DONATE’ MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO CONGRESS - now, let’s see - we have a CAPTIVE AUDIENCE of millions upon millions of STUPID SHEEP, who are ADDICTED to KILLER FOODS AND DRINKS - which now supplies us with an ever-growing, ever-needy, POOR UNFORTUNATES - A MONTHLY STREAM OF REPEAT Prescription Bearers!

HELL - Unlike the Stupid Banks, Mortgage Brokers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mack, Auto-Makers, Home-Owner Losers, Bankruptees, and Ponzee-Scheme Suckers - WE DON’T NEED NO FREAKING ‘BAIL-OUT!’

WE - NOW HAVE A PERRENIAL, SELF-REPLICATING, NON-DEFUNCT, MARKET - AD INFINITUM! DUH?

So, in six simple steps, I stated my case.

Some may say: “Oh, that Crazy guy, Hyland, is just another Goofy ‘Conspiracy Theorist!”

“READ MY LIPS - THERE ARE NO CROOKS IN CONGRESS!”
