The human mind is a very
complex mechanism, isn't it?
We've learned a lot about it,
but there's a lot more
that's still unknown.
Let us wander down a path
"Less Traveled" ...
just a tad ...
MEDITATION ?

It is a Yoga process to reach a state of Peace, or Calmness.
Quietude ... Lack of Emotional Agitation ...
Some Synonyms ...
Calm, Calmness, Peace, Peacefulness,
Placidity, Placidness, Serenity, Tranquility ...
I just recently started practicing some ...
Yoga Breathing Exercises.
Part of this program, on disc, includes ...
Some Meditation Too.
NIRVANA ...
Most schools of Buddhism explain it As ...
A State of Peace or Bliss,
And it may be experienced in Life,
As well as entered into at Death.
It just recently dawned on me that ...
Both as a Writer, and Reader of Poetry ...
That maybe, just maybe ...
We Poets are receiving our Inspirations ...
Via an unknown Muse ...
MEDITATION ?
Perhaps during Sleep, Slumber ...
In a State of Subliminal Unconsciousness ...
Both Visual and Auditory Stimuli ...
May be “Planting” Ideas in our Brains.
Things that we Heard, or Read, or Saw on Television ...
Earlier, that were stored in our Memories ...
Might later be “re-broadcasted” as Subliminal Messages?
Is it within the realm of Possibility?
I Dunno!
I’m just a Dumb Layman!
As a Writer, how many Times ...
Have you been Unable to get the “Juices Flowing”?
Blamed it on the Absence of your Muse?
Became Stressed OUT !
And then, other Times ...
An “Idea” POPS into your Head?
Then ... You Write at a Fevered Pitch!
Did Calmness ... Quietude ...
The Peace of the Removal of Stress ...
Simply Unlock Your Feeble Grey Matter?
Was it ...

I Wonder ... As I Ponder ...

PS: I realized years ago that my Muse was old Bullwinkle The Moose! He helps me a lot; a Moose Muse is pretty cool.
If I'm going to allow my soul to be emptied out, I'd want to be very wary of what I allow in to fill the void.

I've never been a practitioner and found that most that are, are full of bull ship. Come to think of it, the rock group, Nirvana, based on their lifestyle, were just the opposite from what you describe, leading to self-destruction. I have spent much time alone in self contemplation (I don't write about it much except in my autobiography), particularly out in nature, but sometimes, just looking out the window with my brain in a "nothing box."
So, I may be getting to that place that yoga seeks without ever practicing yoga, just clearing my mind from all that crud that daily crowds most people's lives. Believe it or not, while most people like flying to get places fast, I find long drives on straight highways with great scenery very relaxing and mind uncluttering. I do get many of my ideas in that dream state just before waking up. I got one this morning and will write a short story about it later today.
Unlike you I will never take a course in yoga. But I believe it does help people be more creative than productive. It might even cut down on obesity, for all I know.
