I'm with you on speed humps. They really impede traffic. It seems to me that periodic radar setups in those neighborhoods would quickly bring speeders under control. Most people don't speed and are careful in residential neighborhoods. Anyway, they will be passι in a few years when all cars will have GPS governors keeping us in the speed limit on all roads (another damn dastardly government control of us sheeple?) ;-).
A few years ago we were checking out a development on Lake Conroe. Driving in on an open road (more like a driveway to the development) I was looking at the houses and how they were laid out in the distance doing about 45 miles an hour when we hit one of those out of the blue that I didn't see. I almost lost control and would have hit my head on the roof of the van had I not been wearing a seatbelt. It was a really scary experience that I'm glad I never had again.
Imogene, a country-bred girl, longs to make a life for herself in New York City. She joins forces with her former college roommate to start a movie production company in the big city.
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
thought provoking read, well done
