Today is ‘Love Your Pet Day’
A day that’s set aside, for them
Pets give us, unconditional love
We can learn so much from them
They are always there, for each of us
They never, ever criticize, we humans
They comfort us, when we are down
They are loyal and loving, ‘til the end
Yet, today, our pets are treated cruelly
So many, today, are now, being abused
So many, today, are homeless and hungry
We human beings, cause all their pet blues
I think it’s extremely fitting that they have a day
In which we all show them, that they are loved
A day in which we pamper, every one of our pets
And for their love & loyalty, thank the Lord Above
I hope you do something special for your pets, today
Perhaps a special treat, a ride in the car, or a belly rub
Perhaps a long walk in the park, or a big juicy chew bone
Love Your Pets, Today – Whether They are Feline or Pup
And, Today, Would Be a Wonderful Day,
To Adopt a New Dog or a New Cat Friend;
Many Need Loving New Homes, Right Now,
Please Help Bring Their Waiting, To an End.
