Tails Magazine and other pet related organizations have begun a much needed campaign to increase national awareness concerning the plight of the millions of homeless and unwanted pets in America today. One way to save numerous lives and to increase needed pet adoptions all across the country is a designated ‘National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day.’
Please follow the link below and write your own letter to the White House on behalf of America’s innocent, loving, left behind, and extremely deserving dogs and cats. And Please Adopt, Don’t Shop, For Your Next Pet.
Dear President Obama,
Far too many homeless pets in the United States now live out their lives in cramped cages in our overflowing animal shelters or out on the mean city streets of America without ever knowing the love of a family of their own. According to recent studies, 6 to 8 million cats and dogs are now homeless each and every year in America, and 3 to 4 million of these innocent loving creatures are now euthanized annually, because no one is willing to adopt them.
These extremely deserving, left behind, four-legged American residents cannot ask for your assistance, so I am asking it for them. Please declare April 30th ‘National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day’ as a way of giving America’s homeless animals the national recognition and the helping hand that they all desperately need and deserve today, from all of us.
Sincerely,
Mr. Ed - A Pet Rescuer and Advocate
And add to the letter, outlaw puppy mills.
